I used my M-Audio USB cord to record to garage band. It used to work and now it doesn't. Help?

I tried re-installing the driver. I tried different USB slots. I tried Apple and Garage Band help.
It recognizes that I have a MIDI input.
I have no firewall or anti-virus, because I have a MAC.

Figured it out by plugging in and unplugging stuff. Thanks!

You really need to clarify what is going on. M-Audio doesn't make USB cords, they make interfaces, keyboards and software. Start by letting us know what you are using. What are you using the MIDI for? Is the M-Audio device your audio interface or is it just a MIDI interface. When it "worked" what was it properly doing? If you are recording with it, I assume that it is an audio interface, but why are you mentioning that MIDI is recognized? MIDI has nothing to do with recording sound that goes into the M-Audio device, MIDI triggers sound in your software. Help us out a little more.
