straight razor or double edge safety razor?

I was looking into getting something different to shaving. I wanted something closer and more for online retailer of hair (goatee, mustache, etc.). You do not want to spend a ton of money though. Any suggestions on what and where to find?

There is a learning curve with using either razor - razor edge but the law requires more skill and practice that double. I think the biggest factor is time. How long did you practice before shaving to get it right? Does it bother you if you nick your car and you end up with bleeding or weeping. Also - do you have the time in the morning (assuming you shave in the AM) to properly prepare your face Shaving or the other? If you use canned foam - I highly recommend learning to use a brush or shaving foam or soap.
